State of Qatar’s participation at the International Conference in Uzbekistan.

Tashkent: July 17, 2021- (TDI): Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi represented Qatar at the two-day International Conference on “Central and South Asia Regional Connectivity, Challenges and Opportunities” held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. He has had several meetings with high dignitaries and made important contributions towards the overall goals of the conference especially towards the efforts of regional peace and stability.  He said that Qatar will continue to support the Peace Process in Afghanistan and to encourage dialogue and negotiation to achieve peace and stability in the region and put an end to violence. He foretold this in his speech before this international conference.

The FM of Qatar in his speech also appreciated the role of Uzbekistan in its development in Afghanistan and said that these efforts will bring peace and security in Afghanistan and in Central Asia.

He further shared that coincidently this conference took place when the world was facing economic and health challenges due to the global pandemic, and this ensures that regional and international cooperation is a must.

Qatar is an important stakeholder in regional peace and stability as the Taliban are having their official presence there in the State of Qatar.
