Speaker of Pakistan National Assembly visits Chinese Embassy

Islamabad, 01 May 2022 (TDI): The Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf called on the Chinese Charge d’Affaires, Pang Chunxue, in the Embassy of China on Sunday to express condolences over the deaths of Chinese nationals in Karachi.

The Speaker expressed his grief over the loss of lives of Chinese residents as a result of the Karachi University blast. He expressed full solidarity with the people of China on the behalf of entire Pakistani nation.

Condemnation of the attack 

He shared his concerns about the attacks on the friendship between Pakistan and China and promised that Pakistan would pursue the enemy behind the attack.

Further speaking on the matter, the Speaker noted that terrorists seek to sabotage the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project through their nefarious aims.

He assured that Pakistan will not allow its everlasting friendship with China to come under fire.

He also promised to leave no stone unturned to enhance the security of the Chinese people.

The Speaker lastly shared the grief on people’s behalf saying and said the people of Pakistan are saddened by the deaths of Chinese people.

The Speaker also wrote in the book for the guests at the Embassy. He ​​expressed his condolences to the Chinese government and people over the loss of life of the Chinese people.

Other meetings following the attack 

Previously, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, and President Arif Alvi also visited the embassy to express solidarity with the people of China separately.
