Peshawar, 29 October 2021 (TDI): Pakistan’s National Assembly Speaker, Asad Qaiser called on the international community for a quicker pace in humanitarian help to Afghanistan.

Speaking at a handover ceremony of humanitarian aid for Afghan people in Peshawar today on Friday, he also called for the release of frozen funds for Afghanistan by the donor organizations to avoid humanitarian crisis in the country.

Asad Qaiser stated that Pakistan’s government, people, and military are fully supporting the Afghan people whereas; they need the support of the world community to achieve stability and peace, as this is essential for the region and the rest of the world.

While addressing the ceremony, he said that Pakistan has strong relations with Afghanistan and Islamabad wants stability and peace in the brotherly country, therefore; he asked Pakistani philanthropists not to hesitate to help their Afghan brothers and sister.

Shah Farman, KP Governor, speaking on the occasion also asked for international attention. Shah Farman noted that Afghans are already going through difficult times, adding that it is now the right time to continue cooperating to support the cause of peace and stability in the country.

Therefore, international help must be provided to prevent economic collapse, and that it must engage firmly with the new Afghan government.

Najib Ahmed Zai, Afghan Consular General in Peshawar, who was present at the event expressed gratitude to the Pakistani government for helping the Afghan people in this hour of need.
