Colombo, 18 November 2022 (TDI): The President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa visited Sri Lanka to refuel and was received by the President of Sri Lanka, Ranil Wickremesinghe.

At the airport President Ranil Wickremesinghe, President of Sri Lanka got a birthday cake ready at the airport to celebrate the birthday of Cyril Ramaphosa, President of South Africa.

Cyril Ramaphosa celebrated his 70th birthday yesterday. He has been the President of South Africa since when he was elected to power.

Serving as the President of one of the G20 member country have put him on a scale to ensure he exhibits fair play in diplomatic relations with other countries.

Cyril Ramaphosa celebrated his birthday yesterday, 17 November 2022, and had a lot of good wishes from across the globe. After his visit to Bali, Indonesia for the G2O Leaders’ Summit he arrived in Sri Lanka.

He was welcomed in a great and diplomatic way by the President of Sri Lanka. They both had a conversation on the way forward of development for their countries and how to strengthen diplomatic ties with each other.

The South Africa-Sri Lanka relations have been great between these two leaders. They discussed the way forward in assistance for economic growth.

Sri Lanka’s economy has faced a lot of challenges due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. South Africa has been of great support to most countries both on the African continent and the world in general.

South Africa-Sri Lanka Relations

South Africa and Sri Lanka have continued their diplomatic ties since 2020 when both countries discussed the deepening of their diplomatic relations. There have been several exchanges and high-level visits between these two countries.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has several times visited this strategically located country, Sri Lanka, and has continued to show his support for their relations.
