Somalia Participates in Non-Aligned Movement 60th Anniversary conference

Mogadishu, 12 October 2021 (TDI): Khalif Abdi Omar, the Minister of Commerce and Industries of the Federal Republic of Somalia, left for Serbia along with Somali Charge d’Affaires to Serbia Mohamed Abdullahi.

The delegate will attend the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Non-Aligned Movement.

The meeting is taking place in Belgrade, Serbia, from 10-12 October 2021. This year, Serbia is hosting a delegation from 105 countries and 11 international organizations.

 

The Non-Aligned Movement was established in 1961 in Belgrade to mark the Non-Alignment of various nation-states from global powers of that time.

Somalia is one of the founding members of the Non-Alignment Movement. It fully supports the aims and missions of the Organization.

The meeting will conclude on 12 October 2021. In Belgrade, global delegations, including Somalia, will share their opinion about the past, present, and future of the Non-Aligned Movement.
