Somali Ministers participate in Ministerial Conference on Environment

Geneva, 02 September 2021 (TDI): Office of the Prime Minister of Somalia released a statement about the participation of Minister Abdihakim Hassan from the office of the Prime Minister and the Director-General of the Prime Minister’s Environmental Office along with the panel of experts in a conference on marine litter and plastic pollution.

The conference was organized by Ecuador, Ghana, Germany, and Vietnam jointly to raise the issues and challenges faced by marine litter and plastic pollution. Moreover, the conference was held at the platform of WTO in Geneva. This joint Ministerial Conference was set for two days on 1st and 2nd September.

The discussion was released on the prevention of marine litter and plastic pollution which is dangerous and continuously affecting the world climate especially the sea environment. In the conference, a strong political will was built in order to stick to the consistent strategy for the clean and polluted free seas.
