Geneva, 18 August 2021 (TDI): International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in its Sixth Assessment Report (AR6), interlinks climate change and water issues. The report held human activities directly responsible for the rise in global temperature. The Report further explained that melting glaciers and polar ice, rising sea level, droughts, floods, and heatwaves are all consequences of the deteriorating climate.
Moreover, it also reports that the temperatures are expected to rise by 1.5°C in near future. The expected rise would contravene with the set levels of the 2015 Paris Accords and also cause global havoc. According to the report, the only solution to the problem is a far-reaching and drastic reduction of the production of greenhouse gases.
