Chicago, 20 September 2021 (TDI): On Friday, the Central Asian Productivity Research Center (CAPRC) held its 2021 Silk Road Virtual Conference in Chicago. Tariq Karim, the Consulate General of Pakistan in Chicago, addressed the meeting on “Business Opportunities in Pakistan” besides emphasizing the country’s significance as an investment space.
During the Silk Road Virtual Conference, Consul General Tariq Karim highlighted various factors contributing to Pakistan’s significance as an ideal business place, including the state’s geostrategic location at the junction of South, West, and Central Asia, thus making it a premier trade; Pakistan’s market size, its transport, and energy corridors providing the shortest route to the sea; the government shifting from ‘geopolitics to geoeconomics’ with greater emphasis on regional connectivity, and liberalization of investment dominion in the country.
The Consul General further stated that Pakistan and the United States of America have an enormous scope to expand their business and development relations in various fields. During the session, he also invited local businesspersons, investors, and professionals to benefit from the liberalized investment regime in Pakistan.
