Islamabad (TDI): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on Wednesday unveiled commemorative plaques marking the establishment of Mutual Sports and Education Centres, aimed at strengthening people-to-people cooperation between the two countries.
During the ceremony, the two leaders jointly unveiled plaques to commemorate the launch of initiatives focused on sports development and educational collaboration, reflecting the growing depth of Pakistan–Kazakhstan relations.
One of the plaques marked the establishment of the “Kazakhstan–Pakistan Sports Center Dostyq”, an initiative designed to enhance bilateral cooperation in sports, promote youth engagement, and encourage professional exchanges between athletes and sports institutions of both countries.

Another plaque commemorated the creation of three education-related centres intended to expand cooperation between academic institutions and students from Pakistan and Kazakhstan.

Under the education initiative, a technical research centre, along with the Khoja Akhmet Yassawi Research Center and the Al-Farabi Center, will be established through joint collaboration among three universities. These centres are expected to promote academic research, cultural understanding, and scholarly exchanges between the two nations.

The initiatives underscore the shared commitment of Pakistan and Kazakhstan to deepening cooperation beyond diplomacy, with a strong focus on youth, education, and cultural ties.
