Doha, 6 March 2023 (TDI): Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif is visiting Doha, Qatar to take part in the 5th United Nations Least Developed Countries (LDC) Conference.

Shortly after arriving in Doha, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif was welcomed by the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif is in Qatar at the Emir’s request to attend the conference. The two sides conducted discussions on a variety of topics of shared interest.

Moreover, ways to strengthen Pakistan and Qatar’s excellent economic and investment ties also came under deliberation.

The Emir was very appreciative of Pakistani laborers’ contributions to Qatar’s growth and singled out the security professionals from Pakistan for recognition for their crucial job in ensuring Doha’s successful hosting of the FIFA World Cup in 2022.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his gratitude to Qatar for continuing to support Pakistan’s development efforts and emphasized the immense potential for increased cooperation between the two nations.

Also, he reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to continue deepening its connections with Qatar and talked about methods to improve cooperation in the areas of bilateral commerce, investment, and the export of highly trained workers from Pakistan.

The Emir of Qatar also reiterated his strong desire to strengthen ties between Qatar and Pakistan on the economic front.

He reiterated Qatar’s dedication to and ongoing support of Pakistan’s development goals and accepted the Prime Minister’s invitation to travel to Pakistan with great pleasure.
