PM Shehbaz Meets Iranian Delegation in Islamabad Peace Talks

Islamabad (TDI): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a meeting in Islamabad with a senior Iranian delegation as part of the ongoing peace talks.

The Iranian side was led by Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf, and included Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

During the meeting, the prime minister appreciated Iran’s participation in the Islamabad dialogue process and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to facilitating negotiations.

He emphasized that Pakistan aims to play a constructive mediating role to help build momentum toward meaningful progress that could support regional and global peace and stability.

From the Pakistani side, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defense Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi were also present at the meeting.

The discussions form part of broader diplomatic efforts in Islamabad aimed at reducing tensions and exploring pathways toward a more stable regional arrangement.
