Tashkent, 30 March 2022 (TDI): The second meeting of the Uzbek-Turkish High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council was held on Tuesday.
Highlights of the Meeting
The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev welcomed the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
President Mirziyoyev later expressed gratification with the top-level bilateral collaboration. Furthermore, he expressed satisfaction regarding the strengthening of bilateral relations.
The second meeting of the Uzbek-Turkish Top-Level Strategic Cooperation Council took place. The Presidents thoroughly considered the priority areas for further expansion of cooperation.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that the Republic of Uzbekistan is interested in strengthening bilateral relations.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan noted that “the strategic partnership between the two countries, based on brotherly ties, is developing in a spirit of mutual trust and respect in all fields.
Leaders of the two countries acknowledged that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Uzbek-Turkish diplomatic relations.
Furthermore, this year marks the 5th anniversary of the initiation of “strategic partnership” among the two countries. In recent years, the Uzbek-Turkish trade has gone well.
Recently, the bilateral trade grew “2.5 times more than $3.6 billion. The number of joint ventures increased 5 times and exceeded 2,000. Investment cooperation has grown 70 times”.
The leaders will focus expanding the Uzbek-Turkish partnership. They will be working on bilateral trade, cultural and humanitarian exchanges, and other areas of bilateral cooperation.
They also agreed to strengthen the partnership in the fields of education, tourism, arts, and information. Lastly, they signed important documents including agreements regarding the fields of trade, health care, construction, customs, and other areas of bilateral relations.
They also planned to adopt a “road map” for the execution of decisions made in the meeting. In the end, President Erdogan invited President Mirziyoyev to pay a visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Launch of Modern Thermal Power Plant
During the Turkish President’s visit to Uzbekistan, a modern Thermal Power Plant was launched in the Syrdarya region. Turkish Company limited implemented the Power Plant Project. Leaders of Turkey and Uzbekistan participated in the ceremony.
