Islamabad, 20 April 2023 (TDI): On April 20th, 2023, the Good-Neighborliness, Friendship, and Cooperation Commission (GNFCC) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), China Manned Space Agency, All-China Youth Federation, China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, and the secretariat of the SCO Youth Committee co-hosted the “SCO Students’ Talk with Taikonauts of Shenzhou-15” event.
The main goal of this event was to enhance the understanding of astronautical science and technology among young people in SCO countries, promote their development, and deepen practical and friendly cooperation.
The Chinese embassy in Islamabad held a branch venue for the “Talk with Taikonauts of Shenzhou-15” event and many young Pakistani students from different schools in Islamabad attended the event.
Among the attendees, Pang Chunxue, Charge d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy, Shahid Mahmood Baig, Chairman of the Pakistan Science Foundation, Asif Farhat, Founder of the Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies, and members from the Institute of Space Technology Islamabad were also present.
During the event, Aliza Jamil, a student from Islamabad Model College for Girls, asked a question about how to breathe in space, to which the Chinese taikonauts gave a comprehensive response from space.

The event was significant for broadening the horizons of the youths and inspiring them to dream about exploring the mysterious and diverse universe.
The youths are the young ambassadors of China-Pakistan friendship and the hope of the two countries, and the strong relationship between the two nations should be passed on from generation to generation.
In addition, this year marks the tenth anniversary of BRI and CPEC, where S&T cooperation is an important part of it, providing strong support for the high-quality and sustainable development of CPEC.
The science and technology cooperation between China and Pakistan has achieved remarkable accomplishments, including the experimentation of Pakistani medicine seeds returning from the Chinese space station.
China’s development and modernization will create more opportunities for Pakistan and the world.
