Islamabad, 15 August 2022 (TDI): Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, and Defense Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), spoke with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif over the phone.

The Prime Minister shared a message for King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, through a message to express his profound esteem.

The Crown Prince wished the Prime Minister and the people of Pakistan a happy 75th anniversary of their independence during the phone call. Best wishes for Pakistan’s continuing success, prosperity, and development were also expressed by the Crown Prince.

The two leaders also discussed topics of shared interest. Both sides underlined their commitment to further fortifying the solid, long-standing fraternal ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

In addition, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif discussed the outcomes of the decisions reached by the two parties during the visit of the Prime Minister in April 2022.

The two reiterated to move forward with their current trade, energy, and investment cooperation. Likewise, the Prime Minister of Pakistan thanked the Crown Prince for the recent economic and development help given to Pakistan.

He also recalled the historical assistance provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan in times of need.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister reiterated his cordial invitation to the Crown Prince for a state visit to Pakistan, which was graciously accepted by Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.

Pakistan maintains close ties with KSA in a multitude of fields; economy, military, education, and technology. The relations between the two stem from the centuries-old religious, cultural, and commercial links between the two peoples.
