Islamabad, 11 April 2022 (TDI): King Salman Humanitarian Aid & Relief Centre has launched an initiative in Pakistan to support food security by distributing 75,000 food packages in three phases for the year 2022.

The program has been undertaken with the partnership of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in all provinces of Pakistan.

In the first stage, around 25,000 food packages will be distributed in Ramadan. The scheme will aid roughly 175,000 people in 3 districts of Punjab, 9 districts of Sindh, and earthquake affectees of the district Roundu of Gilgit Baltistan (GB).

King Salman Humanitarian Aid & Relief Centre will oversee the distribution of the packages to the beneficiaries with the help of the local government.

Along these lines, 25,000 Food packets will be disseminated in Shaheed Benazir Abad, Tharparkar, Badin, Mirpurkhas, Sajawal, UmerKot, Sanghar, Ghotki, Khairpur of Sindh province.

Likewise, Rahim Yar Khan, Rajanpur, Muzaffargarh of Punjab province along with earthquake affectees of district Roundu of Gilgit Baltistan will receive the aid.

The package weighing 97 kgs contains 5kg of Daal Chana, cooking oil of 5 liters, 2kgs of Dates, 80kg of flour, and 5kg of Sugar.

The 2nd phase will commence in July 2022 having 25,000 food packets which will be distributed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) whereas the third phase will start in October 2022 to address humanitarian food crises in Pakistan.

The aid relief project stems from the humanitarian projects of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), represented by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center.

The project aims to assist impoverished families along with achieving food security for the most underprivileged groups in Pakistan.

King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre has supplied humanitarian and development assistance to approximately 80 countries.

So far Saudi Arabia has delivered aid to millions of beneficiaries with the help of global, regional, and local supporters in recipient countries to implement the programs and initiatives.
