Islamabad, 4 April 2023 (TDI): The Ministry of Islamic Affairs of Saudi Arabia, Call and Guidance has launched an “Iftar Programme” for the fasting people of Pakistan on behalf of Khadim Al-Haramain Al-Sharifain, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.

The program was inaugurated on Monday at the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Islamabad.

As part of the program, the distribution of the Holy Quran and dates was launched under the supervision of Ambassador Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, Religious Attaché, Abdul Majeed Mashaan Al-Otaibi, and Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Mufti Abdul Shakoor.

On the occasion of the inauguration, Ambassador Al-Maliki mentioned that “the embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Pakistan considers the inauguration of these programs as an honorable opportunity for itself.”

He also endorsed that the program was implemented through its attachments with the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Dawah and Guidance, led by Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif bin Abdul Aziz Al-Sheikh.

Significance of this “Iftar program” by Saudi Arabia

For the record, the Iftar program and distribution of the Holy Quran and dates are part of the plans initiated by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, during the month of Ramadan.

These plans include the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and various other countries. The purpose of this program is to take care of poor and deprived families, widows, and orphans, provide them with happiness and joy, fulfill their needs, and provide essential food and drink items.

Furthermore, the distribution of the Holy Quran and dates is also an integral part of the program, as it promotes the teachings of Islam and encourages the reading of the Holy Book.

Saudi Arabia and Pakistan continue to enjoy a strong relationship

Notably, the Saudi Embassy in Pakistan has always been keen to promote cooperation and understanding between the two brotherly countries.

Therefore, the Embassy’s Religious Attaché, Abdul Majeed Mashaan Al-Otaibi, has been working tirelessly to strengthen the ties between the two countries and ensure that Saudi Arabia and Pakistan continue to enjoy a strong relationship.

In addition to this program, the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Pakistan has also initiated various other programs to promote bilateral relations between the two countries.

These include scholarship programs for Pakistani students to study in Saudi Arabia and vice versa, exchange programs for teachers and scholars, and cultural events to promote mutual understanding and respect.

Additionally, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has always been a friend and ally of Pakistan, and the people of Pakistan hold the Kingdom and its people in high regard.

This initiative by the Saudi Embassy in Pakistan is a testament to the strong bond of friendship and brotherhood between the two countries.
