Saudi Ambassador announced financial disbursement to Pakistan

Islamabad, 12 November 2021 (TDI): Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf Al-Malki met the Managing Director of the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), Mobasher Hasan in Islamabad.

Saudi Ambassador discussed possibilities of enhancing bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Both sides considered cooperation in the field of media and people-to-people connectivity of utmost importance.

Saudi Ambassador in an exclusive interview with APP mentioned that Saudi Arabia will soon disburse cash deposits to Pakistan. Approval of the Royal Court in Saudi Arabia in a few days will soon officially materialize Saudi Arabia’s pledge to financially assist Pakistan. Along with the approval from the Royal Court, a Memorandum of Understanding related to financial assistance will also materialize

The Kingdom has extended support to Pakistan at all times. Saudi Arabia recently supported Pakistan in a similar effort by announcing $3 Billion as a cash deposit.

The effort and assistance aimed to address the predicament of balance-of-payments facing Pakistan. Saudi Arabia has also pledged to assist Pakistan with another $1.2 Billion by extending a one-year deferred facility for imports.

The Saudi Ambassador remarked Pakistan as a “dear country” and said Saudi Arabia has amicable ties with Pakistan. He added that Saudi Arabia has all-weather amicable ties with Pakistan, regardless of the changing governments.

He also labeled Pakistan a “brotherly country” and told in the interview that Pakistan has a very bright future ahead. Ambassador extended well wishes for Pakistan and expected it to remain stable, progressive, and prosperous.
