Tehran, 12 November 2021 (TDI): Foreign Minister of Iran, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, held a telephone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed.
Key points and Iran concerns
Both officials addressed the growing trend in bilateral relations, as well as regional and global developments. The Iranian Foreign Minister expressed the positive relations and highlighted that they are essential for both nations.
He also showed his commitment to the full development of bilateral ties.
Furthermore, Amir Abdollahian stated the importance of resolving the disputes between the countries, it will facilitate trade ties.
According to him, problems can be resolved on the basis of mutual relations and international law. Likewise, the UAE Foreign Minister said that experts from the two countries are studying the existing problems, in order to create innovative solutions and resolve them.
Iran’s Nuclear Agreement was also a subject of discussion. The diplomat expressed that each part should return to its commitments. Essentially, he highlighted the US withdrawal and the constant violations of UNSC Resolutions.
In regard to regional diplomatic affairs, Amir Abdollahian congratulated the UAE Foreign Minister’s visit to the region, including Damascus. Iran sees this activity as a positive step. He stressed that cooperation is needed with the Syrian government in order to promote recovery in the country.
The countries agreed to visit the brotherly nations.
The Emirati Foreign Minister invited his Iranian counterpart to visit the UAE. Hence, Amir Abdollahian for his part invited the top Emirati diplomat to visit the Islamic Republic.
The diplomats further referred to the fact that the new Iranian administration prioritizes relations with neighbors. Emirati Foreign Minister said that increasing dialogue with the Islamic Republic is within the government’s priorities. The Foreign Minister agreed to continue building its ties seeking future cooperation.
