Dushanbe (TDI): Russia and Tajikistan are planning to establish a joint industrial park in Tajikistan by 2030, in a move aimed at considerably increasing bilateral trade.
The industrial park, to be established in Tajikistan and managed by Moscow, is aimed to facilitate the entry of further Russian industrial firms into the Tajik market.
Officials said that the project seeks to expand trade between the two nations by 2.5 times within the upcoming five years.
The program is part of Russia’s national project on global collaboration and export, in which participation will be open to firms from Russia as well as other nations.

Products manufactured at the site will be sold within Tajikistan as well as in neighboring nations in Central Asia.
Deputy Director of the Department for International Cooperation and Export Licensing, Artur Galiullin, presented details of the project in Dushanbe.
It is to be mentioned here that Tajikistan has made notable progress in shifting trade settlements with Moscow to the ruble.

Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Firdavs Tolibzoda said that more than 90 percent of trade transactions are now conducted in Russian currency, a sharp departure from 2021, when trade was evenly split between the ruble and the US dollar, according to The Times of Central Asia.
