Moscow/ Riyadh, 13 May 2023 (TDI): On May 12, the Foreign Minister of Russia, Sergey Lavrov, engaged in a telephone conversation with Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Both dignitaries deliberated on the pressing issues that can further enhance the multifaceted Russia-Saudi Arabia relations.
The officials paid special attention to the practical implementation of the agreements that were made as a result of their bilateral contacts at the highest level.
The two ministers held a detailed discussion on the significant aspects of the regional and international agendas, with a particular focus on the developments taking place in the Middle East and North Africa, including the Palestinian issue.

They concurred that the crises prevailing in the region need to be resolved through a prompt and inclusive political settlement.
Russia and Saudi Arabia’s Communication in April
Previously, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on April 21, 2023.
The two leaders exchanged greetings and the Russian President conveyed his wishes on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr to the crown prince.
Apart from exchanging pleasantries, the two sides also deliberated on the relations between their countries and discussed ways of enhancing them in various fields while emphasizing the need for further expansion of mutually beneficial ties in trade, economic cooperation, investment, and energy.
They talked about several issues of mutual interest that are crucial to their strategic partnership.
They expressed their contentment with the level of coordination at OPEC Plus that aims to maintain stability in the global oil market.
In addition, the officials discussed the prospects for cooperation between Saudi Arabia and BRICS, acknowledging its potential benefits for both parties.

The Kremlin, in a statement, revealed that both leaders expressed their contentment with the level of relations between Russia and Saudi Arabia that has led to the stabilization of the global oil market.
The statement further added that Putin and the crown prince had established a close business relationship.
