Peshawar (TDI): The Embassy of Romania in Pakistan opened an Honorary Consulate in Peshawar on Friday, a move to strengthen diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties between the two countries.
This development reflects Romania’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and facilitating greater engagement across multiple sectors.
During a formal ceremony, the consulate was inaugurated by the Ambassador of Romania to Pakistan, Dr. Dan Stoenescu.
The event was attended by distinguished guests, including government officials, business leaders, and members of the diplomatic corps.
At the event, Masood Ahmad Qazi was officially appointed as the Consul of Romania in Peshawar.
Qazi underlined the importance of the new consulate in boosting bilateral trade, investment, and academic collaboration.
He said that the establishment of the consulate would serve as a bridge to facilitate economic and cultural exchanges while providing essential support to both Romanian and Pakistani citizens.
