June 16, 2021 (TDI): Today, the world is celebrating International Day of Family Remittance. This day is celebrated to recognize the contribution of migrants to their family and their birth country. Spokesperson of Foreign Affairs Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri took to Twitter and said that Pakistan’s diaspora overseas is the greatest strength for the country. On this day recognition of the contribution by overseas Pakistanis is important. By sending money they are not just supporting their family but also become a part of the country’s economic growth.
He said that during 2020-21 British-Pakistani sent 3.7 billion dollars back to Pakistan. He further added that both countries’ friendship remained stronger because of these ties.
