June 16, 2021 (TDI): UN Special Envoy to Afghanistan Tomas Niklasson who arrived in Pakistan on Monday continued his efforts for the Afghan Peace Process. He believes that peace talks should move further as it is the only way to end violence in the country.
Today EU special envoy Tomas Niklasson met Ambassador of China Nong Rong, Ambassador of Iran Seyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini, and Ambassador of Tajikistan Ismatullo Nasredin.
The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss the views of regional stakeholders on the Afghan Peace Process.
They all agreed on the note that only political stability in Afghanistan brings peace and democracy to the country.
