Qatari Committee signs MoU with UN

Gaza, 21 August 2021 (TDI): On Thursday, the Qatar Committee for Gaza Reconstruction, led by Ambassador Mohammed Al-Emadi, signed a memorandum of understanding with the United Nations, represented by Mr. Tor Wencesland, the UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process.

The method for delivering the monetary aid grant granted by the State of Qatar to needy families in the Gaza Strip is included in the memorandum of understanding, according to Ambassador Mohammed Al-Emadi. Al-Emadi stated that the monetary help will be distributed to the beneficiaries through the United Nations and its World Food Programme, with about 100,000 needy households in the Gaza Strip receiving it each month at a price of $100 per family.

He also stated that the Qatari committee will send the relief funds before the end of August, with the distribution beginning in September.
