Islamabad, 18 May 2023 (TDI): IG Punjab interacts with Italian Police Attaché and praises the police’s initiatives to combat criminal activity and terrorist attacks.
Punjab IG, Dr. Usman Anwar, spoke with a delegation led by Italian Police Attaché Costan Tino Scuderi and discussed information sharing with Italian police as well as matters of common relevance.
The delegation includes Honorary Consul Fahad Iqbal of the Italian Embassy and Secretary Riaz Hussain.
It was unanimously decided at the meeting to keep advancing the use of bilateral experiences of criminal information exchange and an advanced police management system.
On the dashboard, the IG Punjab lectured the Italian Police Attache on the latest apps and initiatives of the Punjab Police.
According to Dr. Usman Anwar, the dashboard is linked to the police station record management system, the criminal record system, the women’s safety app, the protection centers, and other police formations.

According to the IG Punjab, Punjab Police provides citizens with security and services through smart and community policing.
The Women Safety App protects women, particularly working women and students and projects for the rehabilitation of the transgender community, homeless children, and mentally handicapped people have been launched also.
IG Dr. Usman Anwar stated that the CTD works 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to protect foreigners. The Italian Police Attaché also praised the Punjab Police’s endeavors for inventiveness in the provision of public services, as well as the abolition of crime and terrorism.
The Italian delegation commended the increased use of modern policing abilities and technology in the investigation of offenses.
The IG Punjab and the Italian Police Attache also swapped commemorative shields. Senior police personnel attended the event, including DIG Headquarters Humayun Bashir Tarar and AIG Admin Amara Athar.
The meeting between the IG Punjab and the Italian Police Attaché was likely a platform for exchanging knowledge, appreciating each other’s efforts, and exploring avenues for future cooperation.
The meeting was concluded with remarks that such interactions between International Law enforcement agencies contribute to the global fight against crime and terrorism by facilitating the sharing of experiences, expertise, and resources.
