Islamabad, 17 September 2022 (TDI): The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif departed for the United Kingdom (UK), on Saturday. During his two-day visit, the Prime Minister will attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II which is scheduled on 19 September.

Moreover, Foreign Minister of Pakistan Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar, and Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Marriyum Aurangzeb are also accompanying Pakistan’s Prime Minister on the visit to the United Kingdom (UK).
Earlier, on September 15 and 16, the Prime Minister of Pakistan visited Uzbekistan and participated in the 22nd Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Heads of State Council Summit.
Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II
Queen Elizabeth II passed away at the age of 96 on September 8 at Balmoral Castle. The coffin of the late queen is at Westminster Hall since 14 September. Notably, a total of 750,000 people are likely to pass by the coffin.

The state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II is scheduled on Monday in London. The Presidents, Prime ministers, Monarchs, and other officials from worldwide will be attending the funeral.
Moreover, the Emperor of Japan will also be joined by US Vice President Joe Biden, and French President Emmanuel Macron as well as the Presidents of Australia, Canada, and Jamaica.
Visit to the US
After concluding the two-day visit to the UK, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will go to the United States.
In the United States, he will participate in the High-Level Debate of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). The session of UNGA will be held from September 20 to September 26.
On September 23, he will address the United Nations General Assembly. In addition, he will also participate in a bilateral meeting on climate change and food security.
