Prime Minister Imran Khan addresses the Pakistan-Tajikistan Business Forum

Dushanbe, 16 September 2021 (TDI): Prime Minister Imran Khan addressed the Pakistan-Tajikistan Business Forum on the sidelines of Shanghai Cooperation Organization Heads of State Council in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. The forum was attended by 67 Pakistani and 150 Tajik companies.
While addressing the forum, the Prime Minister said that 67 Pakistani companies are operating in Tajikistan in various fields including minerals, textiles, pharmaceutical, and logistics. He further added that for the business community of Tajikistan, Pakistan is a huge market with a population of 220 billion. The Prime Minister invited the Tajik business community to invest in Pakistan. He assured them that the government of Pakistan will facilitate them in every way.
The Prime Minister praised the extraordinary hydroelectric set-up of Tajikistan. He asked to expedite the CASA-100 project to benefit from clean hydroelectricity.
Commenting on the situation in Afghanistan, the Prime Minister said that finally after 40 years of conflict there will be peace in Afghanistan. This is necessary for trade and better connectivity in the region.
Later on, the Prime Minister also attended a question-answer session between the two business communities.
