Mogadishu, 16 September 2021 (TDI): Somalia’s Minister for Planning Investment and Economic Development, Gamal M Hassan, received the newly appointed Swedish ambassador to Somalia, Ambassador Per Lindgärde.
In their inaugural meeting, the Minister and the Swedish ambassador shed light on the bilateral relations between The Federal Republic of Somalia and Sweden. Along with it, both of the parties paid attention to various issues and their way-outs.
The primary focus of the meeting was on the National Development Plan (NDP 9) of Somalia (2020-24), which focuses on resolution of conflict and violence in the region, establishing macro-economic frameworks, measuring and reduction of poverty, overcoming food scarcity and hunger, mapping for Agenda 2030 (Sustainable Development Goals), combating Security challenges, and economic and social development of the Federal Republic of Somalia and the region.
The Swedish ambassador to Somalia cast his support for the fulfillment of the National Development Plan of Somalia and aggravation of bilateral relations between the two brotherly nation-states.
