China will keep its promise to present the world with a streamlined, safe, and spectacular Olympic Games.

This is the first time, a full worldwide sporting event will be held as it has been scheduled since the eruption of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is a great example of putting the new Olympic motto into action: “Faster, Higher, Stronger – Together.”

President Xi expressed his satisfaction that China has gained support not just from the Chinese people but also from the international community for hosting the Olympic Winter Games. Approximately, 3000 athletes from 90 different states and regions of the world will participate in the said event to compete in the games.

This year’s games will include more events in which more gold medals will be produced than any previous games. This will encourage more competitors to achieve their goals in Beijing.

Further he told that by keeping the holistic priorities of the athletes in view, China is doing its best by ensuring the provision of sound equipment, software, venues for the games, facilities and the services.

President Xi emphasized that he had identified the fundamental goal of hosting the Games as engaging 300 million people in winter sports as early in the bidding process. This vision has become a reality as a result of ongoing efforts.

“Ice and snow have are also as valuable as gold and silver.” The Games’ hosting has also boosted the expansion of winter sports industries and the ice and snow economy in China.

By successive hosting of the Olympic Summer Games – 2008 in Beijing, the Youth Olympic Games – 2014 in Nanjing, and the Olympic Winter Games – 2022 in Beijing, China has reignited the passions and morale of the Chinese people for the Olympic Movement and has boosted the development of the sport in China, which also has played an important role in promoting the Olympic spirit around the world.

Further, he narrated this context and said that instead of sailing in 190 small boats, all the states of the world should join together in one massive vessel to sail towards a brighter future. This is because “Together for a Shared Future” has been declared as an official motto for the Beijing Games – 2022.

Xi Jinping expressed his determination to Thomas Bach that China will make larger contributions to the Olympic Movement and the development of a community with a shared future for humanity.
