Islamabad (TDI): President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday stressed the importance of strengthening Pakistan’s partnerships with Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Austria, and Germany, particularly in trade, economic cooperation, and cultural exchange.
He made these remarks while receiving the diplomatic credentials of the newly appointed envoys at a ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr.
Those who presented their credentials included Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner-designate Rear-Admiral H.L.A. Don Fred Senevirante; Indonesia’s Ambassador-designate and Chairman of ASEAN Countries in Pakistan, Chandra Warsenanto; Kyrgyzstan’s Ambassador-designate Kylychbek Sultan; Austria’s Ambassador-designate Wolfgang Oliver Kutschera; and Germany’s Ambassador-designate Ina Ruth Luise Lepel.

Upon their arrival, the envoys were accorded a guard of honour by a contingent of the armed forces. President Zardari congratulated them on their new assignments and expressed confidence that their tenure in Islamabad would further deepen bilateral relations and expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Pakistan has long viewed stronger economic partnerships as vital to boosting trade and regional connectivity.
Analysts note that Islamabad’s strategic location provides opportunities for investment and collaboration across Asia, Europe, and beyond.

Cultural exchanges, tourism, and education have also been highlighted in diplomatic circles as areas where Pakistan and its partners can build people-to-people linkages, complementing official engagement.
Diplomatic observers believe that the arrival of the new envoys may provide fresh momentum to bilateral relations, as their governments seek to expand cooperation with Pakistan in diverse sectors ranging from trade and technology to security and cultural collaboration.
