Beijing/Dushanbe, 8 September 2021 (TDI): President of China, Xi Jinping, called the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, to ensure complete Chinese support in building a sustainable, lasting, and unbreakable security community in the region. In the telephonic exchange between the two presidents, matters of cooperative safeguard and regional peace were discussed ahead of an important diplomatic event of the SCO summit.
President Xi also extended warm greetings on the upcoming anniversary marking 30 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries. Continuation of the Belt and Road Initiative’s structural development was also stressed to ensure safe and secure trade flow and cross-border ties.
Tajik President Rahmon also thanked President Xi and acknowledged the strategic partnership between the two states. He also appreciated China’s influential role in helping Tajikistan to cope up with the Covid-19 difficulties. President Rahmon said Tajiskitan is looking forward to continuing strong diplomatic relations with China.
