Beijing, 16 December 2021 (TDI): President of China, Xi Jinping attended the opening ceremony of the 10th National Congress of China Writers Association and the 11th National Congress of China Federation of Literary and Art Circles.

He urged the Chinese writers and artists to facilitate awareness of as well as confidence in Chinese culture to develop new opportunities for Chinese art and literature with the aim of adding fresh sheen to Chinese culture.

Role of Artists and Writers

The Chinese Communist Party over the past century has patronized the art and literary front to facilitate development driven by Marxism. People-centered art and literature is the personification of China’s cultural traditions and national conditions.

According to President Xi, contemporary China has tremendous prospects, as this period has provided an exceptional and comprehensive platform for art and literature to blossom. He encouraged the artists and writers to assume the responsibility of developing a splendid socialist culture in China.

Xi Jinping emphasized that the representatives of art and literature ought to stick to serving the socialism and people by following the policy of “letting a hundred flowers bloom and a hundred schools of thought contend.”

Moreover, they should strive for creative development and transformation so that they can rise up to their missions and tasks. Such efforts will introduce a refreshed look of China’s art and literature and in the long run, it will contribute to the realization of the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation.

China’s art and literature have been thriving with vigor and diversity. China has made great strides in the fields of dance, fine arts, television, literature, drama, film, music, folk art, acrobatics, photography, calligraphy, art education, mass art, and literary criticism.

The 10th National Congress of China Writers Association and the 11th National Congress of China Federation of Literary and Art Circles was also attended by the Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang, and other government officials as well as members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.
