Islamabad, 4 May 2023 (TDI): President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi, has emphasized the importance of strong economic and trade ties with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), adding that these ties must be further strengthened for the mutual benefit of the two friendly nations.
The President shared these opinions with Ahmad Farooq, the Pakistani ambassador-designate to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, during their conversation in the Aiwan-e-Sadr.
Speaking with the Ambassador, the President said Pakistan valued its relationships with KSA, built on shared values, a common past, and interpersonal interactions.
To serve the interests of both nations, he emphasized Pakistan’s desire to further solidify the current bilateral relations into a strategic economic partnership.
The Jammu and Kashmir Conflict and the systematic murder of Muslims in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and other regions of India were the two concerns that the President requested the Ambassador-designate bring up at various fora.

Additionally, he congratulated on becoming Pakistan’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia. He expressed his confidence that the Ambassador would work hard to develop and fortify bilateral ties at all levels in the best interests of the two nations.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have maintained solid diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties for several decades.
The two countries share historical, religious, and cultural bonds, and their relationship is based on mutual respect and common interests.
Saudi Arabia has been a staunch supporter of Pakistan’s economic development, providing significant financial and oil assistance for a long period.
The two countries have also cooperated on various bilateral and international issues, including trade, security, and energy.
