President Shavkat Mirziyoyev gives Speech at 76th UNGA Session


New York, 22 September 2022 (TDI): Uzbekistan’s President, Shavkat Mirziyoyev gives a speech at the 76th session of the UN General Assembly.

He started by congratulating Antonio Guterres on his re-election as the UN Secretary-General. Further, he expressed the nature of international relations is changing dramatically. Transnational threats to peace, security, and long-term development are becoming more prevalent. The climate is rapidly changing. The mass migration flows are increasing and traditional values are declining. Considering all of this, the role of the UN on a global scale is growing.

Moreover, the President shed light on the UN’s approach towards vaccines. He said we support the UN rules on the fair supply of vaccines to every country. Shavkat Mirziyoyev took the opportunity to discuss the New Uzbekistan Strategy. It aims at strengthening the role of civil institutions, human rights, reduce poverty, and create sustainable environmental development in the country.
