President of Russia presents High-Level State Award to Uzbek counterpart

Samarkand, 15 September 2022 (TDI): The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin met the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and presented him with the High-Level State Award of Russia, on Thursday. The two dignitaries met in Samarkand Uzbekistan on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit 2022.

The President of Russia also awarded the ‘Order of Alexander Nevsky’ to the President of Uzbekistan.

Statement of Russian President:

“I am sincerely glad to present the high state award of Russia – the Order of Alexander Nevsky – to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoyev.

This order is awarded to the leaders of foreign countries for their great contribution to strengthening friendly ties with Russia. And you, dear Shavkat Miromonovich, like no one else, deserve this high Russian award.

We have long known you as a staunch supporter of the development of the closest, truly friendly, partnership relations with our country. Largely thanks to your personal attention, Russian-Uzbek relations are successfully developing in all areas: in politics, economics, science, and culture.

Dear Shavkat Miromonovich! Dear friend! I congratulate you on the award of the Order of Alexander Nevsky and wish you good health, further success, and all the best in your noble mission in the name of serving Uzbekistan, and its people and in the name of strengthening friendship and harmony between Uzbekistan and Russia.”

Statement of President of Uzbekistan:

The Uzbek President replied to the statement of the Russian President. Shavkat Mirziyoyev said, “Let me express my sincere gratitude to you for presenting me with the high state award of the Russian Federation – the Order of Alexander Nevsky. For me, this is a great honour.

I also consider this vivid evidence of the mutual desire to further strengthen the bonds of friendship between our peoples and countries, and to expand the established constructive and trusting dialogue at all levels.

I emphasize that I am deeply satisfied with the high result achieved in recent years of active and close cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian, and other spheres. Undoubtedly, the achievement of these results is a great merit of the President of the Russian Federation, dear Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin.

I would like to once again express my great gratitude for such an honourable and significant award. I am sure that by joint efforts we will ensure the further development and deepening of practical bilateral cooperation for the well-being and prosperity of our friendly countries and peoples.

Once again, Vladimir Vladimirovich, I thank you for this award. I consider this to be an advance, but in the future, and today the signed Declaration speaks of this, we will advance all our issues, all our agreements only in a positive way. And no matter how hard it is, we still find common ground and resolve these issues, and we will resolve and move forward.”

Following the talks, both presidents signed a declaration on a comprehensive strategic partnership between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
