Ulaanbaatar, 23 November 2022 (TDI): Prime Minister of Mongolia, Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh will pay an official state visit to Japan and the People’s Republic of China.

The statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mongolia states that President Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh will visit China on 27-28 November 2022, and Japan on 29 November-2 December 2022.

State visit to China

At the invitation of Chinese President, Xi Jinping his Mongolian Counterpart will pay his official visit to Beijing. During the visit both leaders will exchange views on intensifying brotherly relations & cooperation between Mongolia and China, the statement noted.

According to the statement, during the visit, both sides will sign different cooperation agreements and issue the “Joint Statement of Mongolia and China on the Deep Development of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership”

State visit to Japan

The President of Mongolia will also visit Japan on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Japan.

President Khürelsükh will be on a state visit to Japan at the invitation of the Government of Japan. He will also pay a courtesy visit to King Naruhito of Japan, the statement noted.

According to the statement, he will hold official talks with the Prime Minister of Japan, Fumio Kishida to discuss bilateral areas of cooperation and relations.

President of Mongolia during his visit will also meet the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Japanese Parliament, Hiroyuki Hosoda, and the Chairman of the House of Councilors, Hidehisa Otsuji.

The visit will emphasize deepening the close relationships between both states and strengthening friendships between people.

During the visit both sides will evaluate the previous 50 years of cooperation and determines the prospects for cooperation in the next 50 years, it stated.

According to the statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mongolia, this head of the state level visit will be the first in the last 12 years.
