Islamabad, 26 August 2024, (TDI): Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has extended his heartfelt congratulations to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed on the UAE’s exceptional foreign trade performance during the first half of 2024. He praised the UAE for its forward-looking policies that have positioned the nation as a leader in global trade. He also lauded Sheikh Mohammed’s dynamic leadership behind this remarkable achievement.
Impressive Growth in UAE’s Foreign Trade
PM Shahbaz Sharif mentioned the figures of increased UAE’s trade during the first half of 2024. The UAE recorded an impressive 11% increase in foreign trade, reaching 1.39 trillion dirhams ($397 billion). These figures represent the UAE’s remarkable success in trade with a considerable increase in its non-oil exports and foreign trade, said PM Sharif.
Prime Minister Sharif commended the UAE’s strategic focus on foreign trade, which has been instrumental in driving industrial growth. Moreover, it has helped in enhancing global competitiveness, and fostering innovation, he mentioned.
Visionary Leadership of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed
In his statement, Prime Minister Sharif also acknowledged the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He emphasized that his leadership has been pivotal in transforming the UAE into a reliable global trade partner and a facilitator of international commerce. The credit for the impressive economic performance is attributed to the dynamic leadership of H.H. President Mohamed bin Zayed, he said. It is a remarkable step forward towards realising his vision of turning the UAE into a global trade hub, PM Sharif remarked.
The Prime Minister emphasized that this success reflects the international community’s growing confidence in the resilience and vast potential of the UAE’s economy. UAE’s success story is an inspiration to other states. It showcases the impact of strategic leadership and innovation in achieving sustained economic growth.
