Islamabad (TDI): Speaker of Federation Council of Russian Federal Assembly Valentina Matvienko and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday keenly discussed the creation of a comprehensive road map for economy, trade and investment between Pakistan and Russia.
In a gracious and productive meeting between them held here, the two sides also discussed strengthening of banking channels for promotion of trade and investment.
They also held discussions on different dimensions of ties between the two countries and exchanged views on further enhancing relations.

Both sides expressed clarity for positive interaction and cooperation in the coming days.
While discussing matters of mutual interest with the Federation Council Speaker, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stressed that Pakistan and Russia have wide potential of cooperation in different fields, which can be exploited to achieve targets of development for benefit of the peoples.
The Prime Minister said the recent visits by the Russian leadership are a positive sign for strengthening bilateral relations.
Sharif voiced assurance that the Pakistan-Russia Joint Commission meeting scheduled in December will prove to be an important opportunity to expand cooperation between the two countries.

The Prime Minister also conveyed his best wishes to Russian President Vladimir Putin and invited him to visit Pakistan soon.
