Gwadar: July 5, 2021 –(TDI): Prime minister Imran Khan is on a one-day official tour to Gwadar. The premier has arrived at Gwadar to review the ongoing projects, sign several MOU’s and lay down the foundation of different projects in Gwadar city.
Prime Minister Imran Khan is accompanied by Foreign minister Mr. Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Chairman Senate Mr. Sadiq Sanjrani, Federal Minister for Planning, Development Mr. Asad Umer, Federal Minister for Information & Broadcasting Mr. Fawad Chaudhry, and Minister for Defense Production of Pakistan Ms. Zubaida Jalal.
Along with high officials and dignitaries, various ambassadors of different countries are also visiting Gawadar to witness this important milestone.
The visit is historic as PM Khan is inaugurating the north free zone of Gwadar. Minister Asad Umer tweeted about the inauguration and said that this zone is 35 times bigger than the phase 1 industrial zone. To boost the economic activity in the region, PM Khan will also lay the foundation of 6 new industries and inaugurate 3 new factories in the city.
On this tour, Prime Minister Imran Khan will also sign two significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs), one for 1.2 Million Gallons/day water purification plant and the other for Facility of Solar Systems in the city which will resolve the city’s water and electricity issues.
During the visit, PM will also take a closer look at the development package that has been prepared for the underdeveloped areas of Balochistan.
Imran Khan earlier said that CPEC and the development of Gwadar is the first and foremost priority of his government. The historic visit and agreements that are being signed today are a glimpse of his efforts to develop Gwadar.
