Islamabad (TDI): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) on securing the hosting rights for the 2034 FIFA World Cup.
“Heartiest congratulations to my brother HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on winning the right to host FIFA World Cup 2034,” the prime minister said in a statement on X.
He termed this landmark achievement “befitting recognition of Saudi Arabia’s growing influence in global sports and its commitment to Vision 2030.”

The premier said he was looking forward to the “spectacular tournament.”
PM Shehbaz’s statement comes hours after FIFA – the global football governing body – confirmed Saudi Arabia as the host nation for the 2034 World Cup.
The kingdom had previously won its bids to host the 2034 Asian Games and the 2027 AFC Asian Cup.

2030 FIFA World Cup
Before the 2034 edition, the 2030 FIFA World Cup will mark the competition’s centennial with a unique format with six South American nations — Morocco, Spain, Portugal, Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay — hosting the tournament to honour the World Cup’s birthplace.
