Islamabad (TDI): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Tuesday that artificial intelligence (AI) is more than a trend and could play a key role in “revolutionizing economies, societies, and industries.”
“AI is more than a trend; it’s a force revolutionising economies, societies, and industries. At this critical juncture, Pakistan is not just embracing AI, we are committed to excelling in it,” he said while addressing the two-day Future Investment Initiative (FII) in Riyadh.

The premier arrived in Saudi Arabia earlier in the day to participate in the investment moot, scheduled for October 29-30. He is accompanied by his key cabinet members.
Shehbaz said Pakistan would encourage its youngsters to “redefine the boundaries of AI”, and provide trading to engineers and data scientists to make them the “backbone of the country’s AI growth.
“Along with Saudi Arabia and like-minded global partners, Pakistan envisions AI as a force for good, free from biases,” he said.

The premier said that the country’s young minds could utilize AI to uplift efforts for agriculture, climate resilience, and the fight against misinformation.
“Our aspirations in AI and beyond are deeply rooted in a solid educational foundation. Through educational reforms, vocational training, and digital literacy, we aim to build a skilled, tech-savvy generation,” he said.
