Phone Call between Pakistan’s Foreign Minister and UN Secretary-General


Islamabad, 28 August 2021 (TDI): Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi had a telephonic conversation with Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, on unfolding situation in Afghanistan.

The Foreign Minister stated that Pakistan will keep participating in humanitarian works to restore peace and stability in Afghanistan. The two leaders extensively discussed the prevailing situation in Afghanistan. The UN Secretary-General thanked Qureshi for Pakistan’s role in helping the humanitarian mission of UN workers in Afghanistan and asked for its continuation.

The Foreign Minister praised the role of United Nations in humanitarian situation in Afghanistan. He also promised Pakistan’s full support for the United Nations to achieve its chartered role.
