Islamabad (TDI): Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has formally informed the International Cricket Council (ICC) of the decision that United Arab Emirates will be deemed as neutral avenue for the champion trophy matches, state-run broadcaster Radio Pakistan reported on Monday.
Earlier, the chairmen of the UAE and Pakistan cricket boards agreed to deem former as the neutral avenue for the Trophy matches.
PCB spokesperson Amir Mir has also confirmed in a statement that ICC was formally informed in this regard.

On Sunday, Pakistan and the UAE agreed to take further steps for enhancing cricketing ties between the two nations.
Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Federal Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, visited Sardargarh, Ghotki on Sunday where he held a meeting with Sheikh Nahyan Mubarak Al Nahyan, Chairman of the UAE Cricket Board.
PCB stated that Naqvi the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, bilateral relations and strategies for the promotion of cricket in both Pakistan and the UAE.
An agreement was reached to take further steps for enhancing cricketing ties between the two nations.

Mohsin Naqvi invited Sheikh Nahyan to visit Pakistan to witness matches of the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy.
Sheikh Nahyan expressed his good wishes for the successful hosting of the Champions Trophy in Pakistan and emphasized the significance of UAE-Pakistan relations.
Sheikh Nahyan stated, “We deeply value our relationship with Pakistan and extend our best wishes for the successful organization of the Champions Trophy.”
PCB offers Cooperation to UAE
Mohsin Naqvi offered full cooperation in promoting cricket in the UAE, describing Sheikh Nahyan’s visit as an honoir for Pakistan.
He lauded the UAE’s consistent support for Pakistan and emphasized working closely with UAE leadership to strengthen cricketing ties.
“Your visit is a matter of pride for us. The leadership of the UAE has always stood by Pakistan. We will work in close collaboration to enhance cricket between our countries.
The excitement surrounding the Champions Trophy is immense, and we aim to make it a unique and remarkable tournament,” Naqvi remarked.
The meeting underscored the commitment of both nations to further the growth of cricket and solidify their partnership in the sport.
