Hanoi, 14 August 2021 (TDI): On August 13, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu hosted a reception for the newly-appointed Russian Ambassador to Viet Nam Gennady Bezdetko in Hanoi. Both countries are entering the second decade of comprehensive strategic partnership in 2021 celebrating its 20th founding anniversary of strategic partnership.
Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the two regularly held online conversations and phone talks to continuously support each other at the regional and global multilateral forum. And making efforts to enhance the bilateral relationship of Vietnam and Russia.
Phu affirmed his appreciation of Russia’s support for Vietnam. Likewise, Bezdetko considered Vietnam as Russia’s foreign policy priority in Asia-Pacific. He also thanked Vietnam for donating medical supplies and equipment to Russia back in 2020 as the country faced challenges to mitigate the COVID-19 virus.
