Tianjin (TDI): Pakistan and Russia have agreed to work together to improve road and rail connectivity through Central Asia, aiming to strengthen regional trade and economic integration.
The agreement was reached during a meeting between Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan, and Russian Deputy Transport Minister Andrey Sergeyevich Nikitin.
The talks were held on the sidelines of the SCO Ministerial Conference in Tianjin, according to an official statement released on Thursday.
Both sides stressed the need to accelerate the development of highways across regional countries to lay the groundwork for greater overland connectivity.

In a separate development, Pakistan and Oman have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing maritime cooperation, including the launch of a ferry service and greater collaboration in the marine sector.
The understanding was reached in a meeting between Pakistan’s Minister for Maritime Affairs, Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, and Omani Ambassador Fahad bin Sulaiman bin Khalaf Al Kharusi.

Both sides underscored their long-standing diplomatic and cultural ties and called for swift progress in boosting maritime trade and connectivity between the two countries.
