Muscat (TDI): A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Tuesday between the defense institutions of Pakistan and Oman to enhance scientific and academic cooperation.
The agreement was inked during a meeting at Mu’askar Bait Al Falaj.
Maj. Gen Hamid Ahmed Sakroon, Chairman of the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies, received a delegation from Pakistan’s National Defence University (NDU), led by the Chairman of NDU, Lieutenant General Babar Iftikhar.
The agreement aimed to promote cooperation in education, research, training, and knowledge sharing between the two countries’ defense institutions.

High-ranking officials including senior officers from the Academy of Strategic and Defence Studies, the Ambassador Pakistan to Oman, and the Military Attaché at the Pakistani Embassy in Muscat attended the signing ceremony at Mu’askar Bait Al Falaj.
They expressed a shared commitment to developing further strategic and academic partnerships in the future.
During the meeting, Maj. Gen Hamid Ahmed Sakroon and Lieutenant General Babar Iftikhar exchanged warm greetings, and discussed the issues of common interests, particularly in the scientific and academic areas.
They also underlined the long-standing brotherly relationship between Oman and Pakistan and expressed optimism for future cooperation.

In October last year, the National Defence University (NDU) and the Chainstore Association of Pakistan (CAP) had signed an MoU to boost collaboration in academic and research initiatives, which symbolized their commitment to leveraging academic expertise and industry insights for the growth of academic and business landscape of Pakistan.
