Islamabad (TDI): Significant progress has been made in Pakistan’s space and digital development with the successful completion of testing and the launch of PAKSAT-MM1, Pakistan’s very first multi-mission satellite.
The government’s commitment to leverage space technologies for national progress was reiterated by Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunication, during her speech at the PAKSAT-MM1 Satellite Application Conference on Wednesday.
According to her, PAKSAT-MM1’s success will revolutionize our communication infrastructure and help all facets of society.

A digitally linked Pakistan is the government’s aim, and the satellite will help to achieve that, especially in rural areas. She emphasized that the advancement of society depends on digitization.
Khawaja also mentioned Pakistan’s advancement to the top tier of digital e-governance in Asia, with a 14-point improvement in the UN’s e-governance development index.

Muhammad Yousuf Khan, the Chairman of SUPARCO, commended the PAKSAT-MM1 team and described the satellite as an essential tool for improving Pakistan’s socioeconomic standing and increasing its participation in the international space industry.

Khan invited local businesses to work together on upcoming space-related projects. “PAKSAT-MM1 will serve unconnected regions with services like DTH, community internet, tele-education, and tele-medicine,” Khan continued.
PAKSAT-MM1, which is anticipated to be in operation for more than 15 years, provides broadband, VSAT connection, and other services that help Pakistan achieve its goal of becoming a digitally empowered country.
Pakistan’s space technological accomplishments are demonstrated by the satellite, which operates in the C, Ku, Ka, and L bands.
