Canberra, 18 October 2021 (TDI): Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Australia, Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri participated in a Peace Conference, ‘Seerat un Nabi’, as a keynote speaker.

The High Commissioner spoke in the favour of clearing misperceptions revolving around Islam. He elucidated further on the essence of Islam which promotes peace and harmony for mankind.

The High Commissioner shed light on the life lived by the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) by highlighting his core virtues of love and brotherhood. He also referred to the Holy Prophet as a beacon of guidance for the mankind. High Commissioner highlighted the prevalence of Islamophobia and how it serves to be a menace for Muslims around the world. The misperception of associating terrorism with Islam was widely condemned by the High Commissioner meanwhile. He thus urged for global dialogue to counter such an approach.

The conference was also attended virtually by a number of scholars and intellectuals. The Peace Conference was organized by Pahchan Media Network to promote inter-faith harmony.

The Government of Pakistan is putting serious efforts at every international forum for global dialogue on the rise of Islamophobia. Prime Minister Imran Khan during his recent visit to Tajikistan for SCO Summit 2021, as well as during his virtual address in the 76th UNGA session, called for global action against Islamophobia.Â
