Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary met Envoys of Pakistan, Russia and China

Islamabad, 22 September 2021 (TDI): Foreign Secretary Pakistan, Sohail Mahmood, received the special envoys of Pakistan, Russia and China after their visit to Kabul, Afghanistan. The officials discussed matters related to Afghanistan’s present situation.

The officials emphasized on the need of providing humanitarian and economic assistance to the people of Afghanistan by international community.

During their visit, Special Envoy of Pakistan, Ambassador Muhammad Sadiq, Russian envoy Zamir Kabulov, and Chinese envoy Xiayong paid visit to Hasan Akhund, the Afghan acting Prime Minister. They also met the former Afghan President, Hamid Karzai, and Chairman of High Council for National Reconciliation (HCNR), Abdullah Abdullah. The matters related to peace, stability and inclusive governance in Afghanistan were discussed.

Ambassador Muhammad Sadiq also called on Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi. The officials deliberated on mutual cooperation such as facilitating movement of people between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
