Islamabad, 31 August 2021 (TDI): Mohammad Ali Hosseini, Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan, met with Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi, Chief of Naval Staff of Pakistan, at Naval Headquarters (NHQ) in Islamabad. During the meeting the matters related to bilateral cooperation, mutual interest and maritime security were discussed.
The amicable relations between the two neighboring countries, Pakistan and Iran dates back to the partition of subcontinent in 1947. Iran was the first country to recognize the newly established state of Pakistan. Since then, both countries have collaborated and are members of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).
